Kids are back in school and you've had that one last drive of the summer. Fall is around the corner and average retail gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 4.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.95/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 91 gas outlets in Yakima. This compares with the national average that has increased 23.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.64/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Yakima during the past week, prices yesterday were 36.0 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 24.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 29.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 44.5 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

 

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on September 5 in Yakima have ranged widely over the last five years:

$2.59/g in 2016, $2.84/g in 2015, $3.83/g in 2014, $3.65/g in 2013 and $3.99/g in 2012.

Tacoma- $3.00/g, up 5.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.94/g.

Seattle- $3.05/g, up 5.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.99/g.

Washington- $2.99/g, up 6.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.93/g.
