The NBA's sixth highest scorer all-time, Dirk Nowitzki, officially announced his retirement from the league before last night's Dallas Mavericks home game. Following the contest, five of his hoops heroes came onto the court to pay tribute to the German that revolutionized basketball in both the US and Europe.

Hall of Famers Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen and Larry Bird all spoke before handing the microphone to former Seattle SuperSonics standouts Shawn Kemp and former University of Washington great and fellow countryman Detlef Schrempf.
