Yakima Hosts Free Family-Friendly Watch Parties for Four World Cup Matches
In less than three weeks, the FIFA World Cup 2026 will arrive in Washington State, and Yakima residents have a special opportunity to be part of this historic event. Yakima has been designated as one of nine official FIFA Fan Zone locations in the state, offering free, family-friendly watch parties at the Sozo Sports Complex.
FOUR MATCHES FOR YOU TO ENJOY
The Yakima Fan Zone will host four matches in June, including Mexico vs. Korea Republic, USA vs. Australia, Mexico vs. Czechia, and USA vs. Turkey. Fans can arrive an hour and a half before each kickoff, with the first event starting on June 18.
Organizers encourage fans to reserve free tickets online and bring lawn chairs or blankets, as the events are outdoors.
KIDS EVENTS AND A BEER GARDEN
A Kid Zone with inflatables, soccer activities, and games will be available, along with a beer garden for fans 21 and older, local vendors, food trucks, and entertainment. Free FIFA merchandise will be handed out while supplies last.
Yakima City Council member Patricia Byers says the event will bring the excitement of the World Cup to the Yakima Valley and offer a chance for everyone to participate. For more details or to become a sponsor or vendor, contact local organizers or visit the event website.
