The Yakima County Commissioners Tuesday voted to increase fees for developers for processing building applications and other land uses. The commissioners raised the fees upwards of 85 percent. They also agreed to review the increases in six months to see if they need to be adjusted. It is the first fee increase passed by the commissioners since 1990. The commissioners say the increases are needed to help keep up with the increased cost of operating the County Planning Department.
