TACOMA (AP) — A man has been charged with murder and five counts of assault in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy south of Tacoma Friday.

The Pierce County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release that 22-year-old Billy Gene Williamson was charged Monday.

Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says two juvenile teens also have been detained while charges against them are considered.

The News Tribune reports the incident in which Chase McKee was shot in the head "appears to be an argument over a girl," but McKee was not the target.

The prosecutor's office says police responded to an area of Lakewood Friday evening on reports of a shooting and found the teen boy with the gunshot wound. He died later of his injuries.

Williamson pleaded not guilty and had bail set at $2 million.
