BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Kitsap Transit's new fast ferry service from Bremerton to Seattle is now open.

KING-TV reports Wednesday marked the grand opening of the vessel, featuring U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer onboard along with nearly 100 other invited state and local leaders.

The service officially starts Monday, running weekdays and Saturdays.

A round trip on the ferry will cost $12. Passengers can ride for free throughout July.

The ferry ride from Bremerton to Seattle is expected to take 28 minutes round trip.
