Family Escapes Early Morning House Fire

A family and their dogs were able to escape a house fire in the 14 hundred block of South 26th Avenue just before 3 this morning. The family was awakened by a smoke alarm. Firefighters found a fire in the rear wall of the home and doused the flames. The cause of the fire is being blamed on a short in wiring in the wall. Damage is estimated at 5 thousand dollars.
