DRIVER ALERT; The city of Yakima has issued a press release about work happening along Washington Avenue Tuesday.

"Maintenance of a stormwater manhole will result in lane restrictions at the intersection of Washington Avenue and South 3rd Avenue from 8:00 am to 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 2nd.

City of Yakima crews will restrict northbound 3rd Avenue traffic and eastbound Washington Avenue traffic to one lane, in addition to closing the southbound right turn lane on 3rd Avenue.

Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Wastewater and Stormwater Manager Mike Price at 249-6815 or Surface Water Engineer Randy Meloy at 576-6606."
