Drive Englewood Avenue in Yakima? Closure Starts on Monday
Yakima City officials are saying work on a section of Englewood Avenue will close the road starting Monday until early April. The work on a 30-inch water transmission line will start on Monday, February 28 and will close Englewood Avenue between North 32nd Avenue and North 34th Avenue. The closure will remain in place all hours of the weekdays and weekends for the duration of the project. Detours will be in place to route traffic around the project.
Yakima transit routes could be impacted by the closure
Local access to residents and businesses will be maintained. A press release from the city says "the project includes installation of a new valve on an existing 30-inch concrete cylinder pipe water transmission main. TTC Construction, Inc. of Yakima will begin excavation on Monday, February 28th. Work is expected to continue through the first week of April 2022."

If you ride the bus Yakima Transit will see impacts. In fact Yakima Transit Routes 3 and 4 will be adjusted because of the closure.

If you live along the road your garbage collection could be interrupted
Although the project is not expected to cause interruptions in garbage collection, customers may contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 509-575-6005 with any questions or concerns.
As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily depending on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
