The downtown Yakima library will see some major changes starting tomorrow. Changes that could ultimately benefit you. A remodeling project will increase the number of computers at the library. During construction, people will have to use a different entrance on "A" street and will have limited access to certain areas of the library.

We're also told that the the library will also be closed on Sundays. However, the Summitview Avenue location will be open. The re-model will also include moving the public restrooms to the main floor, and expanding areas for periodicals and spanish language materials. The re-model is funded by a fund set aside for building improvements. The downtown library was built in 1957.
