Union Gap Detectives along with members of the Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team continue searching for clues in Monday's killing of 84-year-old Jose Navarro and 87-year-old Rafaela Guzman Navarro at a Union Gap home. Authorities say they were called to a home in the 1100 block of Whatcom Street in Union Gap at about 10:30 pm Monday.

Family members found the couple dead in the Union Gap home

Police say they were called by family members who had stopped to check on their grandparents but found the couple "had been critically injured." Paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and no new information has come from investigators. They aren't saying if the killing was a random killing. The investigation is underway as police hope for tips that could lead them to more answers and an arrest or arrests.

An autopsy is set for Friday to give investigators more answers as to how the couple died.

Three murders have been reported in Union Gap so far this year

Detectives in Union Gap are have now investigated three homicides so far this year. Along with the deaths of 84-year-old Jose Navarro and 87-year-old Rafaela Guzman Navarro at a Union Gap home Monday police also investigated another homicide earlier this year. A 37-year-old man from Union Gap who authorities say killed a woman after a domestic dispute in his vehicle last month was charged with second-degree murder during an appearance in Yakima County Superior Court in June.

Police say Nicole Haggerty was killed during a domestic dispute

Union Gap Police say Christopher Havins is responsible for the death of  39-year-old Nicole Haggerty. According to a witness the two were fighting in a vehicle in the 1800 block of Rainier Place near Valley Mall in Union Gap on May 17 when Haggerty was ejected from the vehicle, dragged and eventually run over.
Haggerty died at a Yakima hospital. Havins is awaiting trial in the Yakima County jail.
