The Yakima County Commissioners have issued a proclamation sending a message to Washington State Government. The proclamation issued on Tuesday says while the county supports the local health department they say the state COVID-19 mandate comes with no state resources to carry out many restrictions. The proclamation also says the Yakima County Commissioners want the governor to call a special session of the Washington State Legislature to deal with the COVID-19 emergency and the commissioners say they want a change in emergency orders by the governor. The commissioners want an amendment to the orders reducing them to 14 days. Within the proclamation they also demand full local control on how Yakima County deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The proclamation was issued on Tuesday.
