Coroner Warns Small Pill Killing People in Yakima
Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice is warning about a small pill that's killing people in Yakima. He says over the last five days his office along with local law enforcement have investigated three deaths associated with the pill that people are being told is Oxycontin.
Curtice describes the small blue pill as "the same diameter as an Ibuprofen, but half of the thickness with the number 30 on it."
He says his investigation suggests the pill contains a potential lethal amount of Fentanyl.
Curtice says he's sent a sample to the Washington State Patrol crime lab for analysis. There's no word on when the results will be available.
