Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima is getting a major makeover.

Jim Wright the Yakima School District construction and planning principal says they are in the process of replacing the turf, the lights and the track.

Wright says the stadium will host more than just football games once completed.

It will not only be the home to our local football teams but it will also be a place where soccer events can take place and the ever popular marching festivals with marching bands.

Wright says all the work should be completed in the first part of November with the first football games played on the new turf in late November.

It is a $4-million dollar project paid through the district reserves.
