Over $1M in Lottery Prizes Unclaimed in Washington
Time to check those old Lotto tickets.
If you've played Washington's Lottery over the last year it's time to check your old tickets if you still have them because more than $1 million in prizes haven't yet been claimed.
CHECK THOSE HIT5 TICKETS
Specifically if you play HIT5 state officials say there's a HIT5 ticket purchased in Ephrata last year that's worth $600,000. But there's also two other HIT 5 prizes that haven't yet been claimed including a ticket worth $420,000 that was sold in Ridgefield, and a $57,000 winner sold in Port Townsend.
MORE THAN HIT5 TICKET WINNERS OUT THERE
Search your coat pockets and junk drawers for tickets because all total there are 20 outstanding tickets worth a total of $1.2 million including several Match 4 tickets each worth $10,000. All the prize money is being held by the state until it's claimed.
DON'T WAIT TOO LONG
There is a deadline.
Lottery officials say you have 180 days from any drawing date to claim a prize, and the same amount of time from the final day of ticket sales to claim scratch-off ticket prizes.
What happens to unclaimed prizes? They go back into state coffers that support education in the state.
A NEW RAFFLE DRAWING HAPPENS IN MARCH
While lottery officials wait for people to claim past prizes they're also announcing a new St. Patrick's Day raffle which will guarantee a $1 million winner. The $1 million prize and smaller prizes will be available to those purchasing one of the limited tickets of 250,000. Tickets will cost $15 each and sales start on January 20. Along with the top prize of $1 million you could also win $250,000, $100,000, $50,000, $25,000, $10,000 and $500 prizes.
