Rich Brite is the coordinator of Union Gap's Civil War reenactment that happens every year at Fullbright Park. But Today he's upset with what's happening around the country and the plan to pull down Civil War statues. Brite tells KIT News. "If you erase the history of the confederacy does that mean that slavery didn't happen? I mean if you're going to remove one side of the history what's going to happen?"
Brite says puts the blame on politicians and the media for stoking fires and he says he's heartbroken over what's happening. He calls it the erasing of history. Brite says that's dangerous because once its erased it can be repeated again.
