City Projects Could Slow Your Commute This Week
Two projects could impact your commute this week. A road repair project will impact traffic on a section of Chestnut Avenue for most of each day from Monday, June 19th through Wednesday, June 21st. As a result of the project, the section of Chestnut between 44th Avenue and 48th Avenue will be closed each day from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm from June 19th through June 21st. Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage. Flaggers will also be on site to help drivers navigate through the work area.
Another project to grind and remove tree stumps will impact traffic on a section of 3rd Avenue for most of each day from Monday, June 19th through Wednesday, June 21st.
As a result of the project, the northbound, outside lane of 3rd Avenue between Peach Street and Nob Hill Boulevard will be closed each day from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm from June 19th through June 21st. Flaggers will be on site to help drivers navigate through the work area.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.
