Cascade Creek Fire Expands to 8500 Acres

Smoke from the Cascade Creek Fire on Mount Adams shot 17,000 feet into the air yesterday.  That fire has grown to 8500 acres.  The flames are moving toward the landmark Gotchen Creek Guard Station.  Built in 1909, the cabin has been wrapped in a protective foil to help protect the oldest building inside the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest.
