Authorities throughout the state of Washington including in Yakima continue to warn people of the deadly drug fentanyl. Just last month Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice warned people of small blue pills that he believes are laced with fentanyl. Three deaths were associated with the pills last month in Yakima. The concern and the warnings continue this month.
The King County Sheriff's Office issued a public warning Tuesday after two 16-year-old boys died of overdoses.
Authorities say Lucan Beirer died on Monday. The other 16-year-old student died August 11.
Deputies believe both teens took pills they thought were oxycodone tablets that turned out to be counterfeit drugs.
King County Sheriffs officials say five probable overdoses have been reported in the last few days. The people had all ingested blue pills containing fentanyl.
