With only a handful of votes left to count Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says 4 school districts saw success with measures on the ballot earlier this month. Ross says campaign officials in Selah, Sunnyside, West Valley and Highland did a good job in getting people to vote. "For a February election I think 37.3 percent is a good turnout for the districts. They must have had a strong get out the vote campaign going on."
The West Valley $59 million bond will fund construction of Apple Valley and Summitview Elementary schools.
The $16 million bond In Sunnyside would pay for new classrooms, sidewalks, roads to access the high school and new parking areas and courtyards.
Voters also supported levy measures in Selah and Highland school districts.
Ross says the election will be certified on February 22nd.
