To pass or not to pass...that is the question!  Moms & Dads, if your kid is struggling in history class you might want to make sure they're not cutting drama class.

EurekAlert  reports that George Mason University researchers "found a link between arts elective courses such as music, dance, visual art and drama, and better grades in middle school."
The study sample was some 31-thousand mixed race and low income kids.
Researchers found that after statistically accounting for all the differences between the kids who took arts and those who didn't, art education is still found to be a  component in better overall academic performance, in the same year and even years later.

EurekAlert  reports "The research center will also soon publish research that will take a closer look at specific art forms such as music, dance and visual arts. With additional funding from the National Endowment for the Arts...they will also follow up with the students through high school.
