Antifa Or Alt-Right – Who Crashed The Capitol?

Today's Morning News with Dave and Lance on 1280 Newstalk KIT was an eye opener for me.  I love the show and all our great listeners and callers and awesome advertisers.  It is a privilege and an honor to host the show everyday and share news, jokes, thoughts and opinions with each of you.

I have a great sense of responsibility to not mislead or present information that is not accurate.  We speculate from time to time but you always know when we do that.  So on today's show (Friday 1/8/21) our infrequent liberal lawyer caller named Stephen (or Steven) made me stop and think about something I hadn't really considered.

Make no mistake, he's a serious liberal but he also is polite and articulate and is willing  to call and engage and I really like it when he does.  I know a lot of you don't including Lance!

But Stephen makes me think and focus and practice my ability to compose on the fly and I appreciate what he brings to the show as a rallying point for many of you to call in and call him out!

Since the Protest and rally got out of hand on Wednesday I have been saying that I thought it had to be Antifa who had infiltrated the crowd and that it was they that broke into the Capitol.  I suggested it was just a matter of time before that was determined and exposed.  I thought the people leading the charge simply couldn't be Trump Supporters because such a act was clearly wrong and stupid and ultimately would blow up in the President's face and boy has it!

What I hadn't considered is that among the crowd of tens of thousands of legitimate supporters were elements of the far right whose attitudes and actions mirror those of the reckless, destructive, disrespectful Antifa thugs.

I am just staring my research on the alt-right but it's clear they were there on the inside of the capitol.  Stephen said to check out a guy called "Baked Alaska" and I did.  His video is proof of his presence and bad attitude.  He and others like him are filled with hate.  They may support Trump but they don't represent the true base of Trump's support.  The problem is now we are all painted with the same brush as the lunatic fringe.  The left has had their miscalculations and misrepresentations about true Trump supporters confirmed by the bad actors who charged into the Capitol.

So, I am off to more homework and trying to get a handle on these clowns giving the rest of the bad name.  Check out "baked alaska" below.  On the plus side , at least once inside the Capitol he warns those around him "not to break anything, it's the People's house" so he can be considerate while being a major and perhaps dangerous jerk.
