
A Close Yakima City Council Race As Ballot Counting Continues
Ballot counting continues in the Yakima County Auditors Office from Tuesday's general election. As of Tuesday the voter turnout was 20.39%. All the counting will end on November 23 when the election is certified and all the counting is over.
Brown pulled ahead in the Wednesday count
More ballots were counted on Wednesday in the close race for District 6 on the Yakima City Council. After the count Matt Brown pulled ahead in the race against Lisa Wallace by 18 votes. Currently Brown has 1,562 compared to Wallace with 1,544. On Tuesday night Wallace lead the race by 30 votes.
More counting happens Thursday in the auditors office
The count continues in the auditors office Thursday afternoon. More than 3,000 ballots were counted on Wednesday. The ballots counted were those that were turned in on election day.
On election night, in The District 2 race, Danny Herrera out polled Edgar Hernandez 59% to 39%. In District 4, Janice Deccio won the race with 58.82 percent of the vote compared to 39.9% for Mark Shervey.
