Yakima Police are investigating the shooting of a 4-year-old boy early Wednesday. Capt. Jay Seely says officers responded to the 500 block of East H street at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired. As officers were arriving at the scene they received a report of a gunshot victim at a home in the 600 block of Laurel Street. That's where officers found the 4-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. The child was taken to Yakima's Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for Surgery. Seely say the boy is expected to survive. No arrests have been made as police continue to try and figure out how the boy was injured in a early morning shooting.
