The arrests continue in an ongoing operation to find wanted violent criminals in the valley this year. It's called Operation Invictus and according to the Yakima Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service authorities have now made 246 arrests up from 222 arrests earlier this month. 133 of the arrests are gang related. They've seized 33 firearms up from 28 earlier this month, $37,691 in cash, 4.012 pounds of drugs, one ballistic vest and 12 cars.

The goal of Operation Invictus, which is an element of Project Safe Neighborhoods and the Violent Crime Reduction Initiative, is simple - make communities safer. Local, state and federal officers have joined forces for the operation.
