16-Year-Old Dead in Sunday Morning Shooting in Yakima
A 16-year-old from Yakima was killed early Sunday while walking in east Yakima. Yakima Police say they were called to the 1800 block of Sliger Road just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday after witnesses reported shots fired in the neighborhood. Authorities say the victim was walking to a home with four others, two males and two females. All were juveniles. They told police two men with guns started a fight and the 16-year-old was shot during the scuffle. The 16-year-old died at the scene. But police say one of the suspects, a 19-year-old man was also shot and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Yakima police continue to investigate the incident. No arrests have been made.
