Where Is He? Man Now Missing in Cliffdell Area For 10 Days

Day 10 Today and still no sign of the missing Seattle Deputy Fire Chief Jay Schreckengost lost in the Cliffdell area on November 2.

The last time anyone heard from him was on November 2

He was last heard from when he sent a text to family members that he had stopped in the area to look for elk. His truck was found on a US Forest Service Road near Whistlin’ Jack Lodge. But still no sign of the 56-year-old Seattle Deputy Fire Chief.
Today searchers will be a using drone with bluetooth technology that they're hoping may be able to pick up a signal from Schreckengost's Fitbit he was wearing when he went missing.

At the beginning of the search about 100 people were involved

At the height of the search almost 100 people were involved. Today about 50 people are expected including some of his fellow firefighters. Members of the Seattle Fire Department have been part of the rescue since the beginning. Because his truck was found on the US Forest Service Road in Kittitas County, the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office along with the King County Sheriff's Office and Yakima County Sheriff's Office have been involved in the search.

The base of operations has been moved to Gold Creek Station restaurant

Searchers had based the search operation out of the Whistlin’ Jack Lodge but the center has been moved to Gold Creek Station restaurant. More parking is needed because they expect a large team of searchers to help this weekend.
It hasn't been an easy search because of the tough terrain. For the last 9 days searchers have been looking with still no sign of the 56-year-old Seattle Deputy Fire Chief who was lost on November 2.
