Woman Killed in Saturday Morning Shooting

Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice hopes to soon identify a woman who was killed in a shooting reported early Saturday morning. Yakima County sheriff's deputies say the woman was a passenger in a vehicle and was shot as the vehicle was traveling west on Interstate 82 north of Selah. The driver was not injured.

Deputies were called to the park and ride parking lot at 51 Firing Center Road at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday. The woman was found wounded in the car and rushed to a Yakima hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy is set for Wednesday. No suspects have been arrested as the investigation continues.
