Washington Wine Country has partnered with Hertz Rent-A-Car Company to make it easier for visitors flying into the valley to enjoy area wineries.

President and CEO of the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau John Cooper says when wine lovers fly into Yakima, Pasco or Walla Walla they will get various discounts.

“For example they won’t have any drop off fees if they pick up a car in one town and drop it off in another one. Also they’re offering discounts on the car rentals as part of the program.”

Cooper says Hertz is the official car company of the Taste and Tote program.

The program allows travelers on Alaska Airlines to check a case of wine free of charge within the United States plus customers can sample wines at nearly 200 participating wineries and pay no tasting fees when they show a current Alaska Airlines boarding pass from one of the three airports.
