On Friday, Northwest Harvest got one of their biggest donations of the year.

Tree Top, a top apple producer in the Yakima Valley, donated 9,200 apple cider containers. That's a lot of apple juice.

Northwest Harvest says the annual Tree Top donation always symbolizes the start of the food drive for them. Tree Top is one of the biggest contributors to the food drive.

"It starts my tally," Sheri Bissell of Northwest Harvest said. "It starts my tally with pounds of food coming in for the food drive is what it does. So it gives me goose bumps with the Tree Top truck backs up every year. It's a good feeling."

All those containers added up to 41,000 pounds of apple cider. Northwest Harvest says the donation will go a long way to helping people in need this holiday season.
