Authorities say Tello was shot dead after he reportedly knocked on the door of the home carrying a gun.

The incident happened in Yakima around 3:30 a.m.

Deputies found him near his mother’s residence and when they tried to stop him he fled in his vehicle.

The Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice has yet to identify the woman. An investigation continues today.

Police were called to the area at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after a report of a man out of control damaging property at a local motel.
