U.S. pork exports

U.S. pork exports posted the best month ever in July, reaching over 233-thousand metric tons, up 32% from a year ago and topping the previous record from April 2018.

U.S. pork exports to Panama are off to such a red-hot start in 2019 that a safeguard measure has been triggered. Export volume already exceeding 130% of the tariff rate quota.

More and more people are choosing to eat less and less meat due to concerns over the environment, personal health and animal welfare.

2018 was a record-breaking year for U.S. pork exports to South Korea. Nov. and Dec. data still being compiled, export volume, 191,610 metric tons, and value, $538.4 million.

U.S. pork exports is growing in Central America, South America and the Dominican Republic. Thanks to the increase of consumption leading to more opportunities.
