Mike Johnson says a move by the city to designate a secure parking lot for people who live in their vehicles is the wrong move and won't help the local homeless problem.

The council has a short agenda. One item on the agenda however is expected to generate a lot of discussion.

Yakima County Sheriff's Detectives are working closely with authorities in Idaho and the Yakima Nation in the investigation.

The Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice has yet to identify the woman. An investigation continues today.

Yakima Police say the 71-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a truck as he was walking in the parking lot at the AM/PM convenience store at 912 North First Street.
