The public is invited to attend planned MLK DAY activities in Yakima, Toppenish, and Moses Lake.

There is a lot of stuff happening in the Yakima Valley during the MLK Day weekend!

Over 8 planned events this year to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Yakima and Toppenish.

21-year-old Moises Bello-Medina of Yakima has been charged with 1st Degree Unlawful possession of a firearm, Theft of a motor vehicle, attempt to elude law enforcement and 2nd Degree felony Assault

Activities are planned for MLK Day in Yakima and Toppenish beginning January 10th through January 17th, 2022.

June 19th is Juneteenth. Black Independence Day falls on a Saturday this year.

In Yakima the annual Peace Walk has been cancelled but a Martin Luther King Jr. Virtual Celebration will be held on ZOOM from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The theme to Yakima's 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is Reach out and Touch Somebody's Hand.

In Yakima, the 34th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March begins at noon at South Fifth Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
