Yakima Interim Health Officer Dr. Larry Jecha has lifted or rescinded the local masking order in order to "ensure consistency between local and state guidance."

Bravo says the numbers are a reminder that more people need to be vaccinated against the virus.

The event is set for 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 10 North 9th Street, Yakima

Officials at the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce are holding a mask giveaway Thursday and Friday at the chamber offices from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day

. Testing is free and no appointment is required.

A news release says Yakama Nation Tribal Police will enforce the order by issuing civil citations to both individuals and businesses in violation of the order in the amounts of $50 to $500 per violation.

The Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management will be conducting two community drive-thru mask pick up sites in the valley this week.

The governor also ordered a two-week pause in the state for counties wanting to move to the next phase of the state's re-opening plan.

This mask giveaway is from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, or until supplies run out. The event's for the community and will include adult and pediatric size masks.
