The fire season is underway in Washington State as the hot temperatures begin to arrive in the Yakima Valley and the threat of fire increases at the end of the month and into next month.
With the recent hot weather fire are not allowed anywhere in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Forest officials have campfires, charcoal briquettes, solid fuel fire, Tiki torches, liquid fuel candles and lanterns.
These particles are so small they easily penetrate deep into the lungs and even into our bloodstream, leading to premature deaths, heart attacks and asthma attacks.
Yakima Police has created the SafeCam program which allows business owners, tenants and homeowners the opportunity to register their personal security cameras with the Yakima Police Department.
