A section of unused railroad tracks that cross 1st Street at H Street will be removed this Thursday, June 14th. The removal of the unused tracks will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. Work to take out the tracks and repave the area with asphalt is expected to be completed by 4:00 pm that day...

No homes are in danger but Yakima Firefighters are battling a blaze at the old Boise Cascade Mill along I 82. The fire started earlier today possibly in a bark pile and was spread by high winds. Fire officials say it will take a while before the fire is contained and investigators can search the area. No injuries have been reported. And it's not yet clear what's on fire.
