You can't dump old cars, boats, car parts, old stoves or freezers along the fence line of local wrecking/scrap yards. It's apparently happening so much that the wrecking yard owners have turned to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. They say Poor Boy's Auto Wrecking on W Powerhouse Road is one example of many that are having a problem. A news release from the sheriff's office says most of the items the yards can't use them and it costs them money to dispose of them. Deputies also say taxpayers also pay to have county employees remove illegally dumped items from the county Right of Way. They say many of the businesses are installing cameras.  Any violators identified may face prosecution, fines and the cost of cleaning up the illegally dumped items.
