The Seahawks quarterback has been nominated for an ESPY Award: best breakthrough athlete.

The ESPYS, ESPN’s annual sports-award show, is slated for 6 p.m. Pacific time on July 17. Fans can vote on ESPN.com for nominees in 35 award categories.

Wilson is up against San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, L.A. Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig and L.A. Angels outfielder Mike Trout.

Several other athletes with Washington State connections are also nominated in various categories, including U.S. women's soccer star Alex Morgan who trained with the Seattle Sounders women's team, and Poulsbo motocross rider Ryan Villopoto.
