Safe Yakima Valley just sent us a news release announcing an educational forum for young people needing to navigate the legal system or looking looking to explore a future in Law & Justice.

On Friday May 24, 2019, Safe Yakima Valley and Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church are sponsoring a Youth Law Forum at the Henry Beauchamp Community Center (1211 South 7th Street, Yakima) from  3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. 

Special Keynote Speaker for the event is Judge Lori K. Smith, recently appointed Washington State Court of Appeals, District 1.

Other guests include  King County Superior Court Judge LeRoy McCullough, and Washington State Supreme Court Justice Sheryl Gordon McCloud. 

Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore, Yakima City Police Chief Matt Murray and other local attorneys, including Attorney Sonia Rodriguez True who will facilitate an informative Law & Justice panel discussion around the pertinent law & justice issues of particular interest to youth, their parents and community members at large.
