Realtors Taking Steps to Stay Safe
Realtor safety; it is on the minds of many agents in Yakima after the murder of Yakima broker Vern Holbrook at a home he was showing in Cowiche.
Cory Beemis with Creekside Realty says he tries to meet clients at his office and let others know where he is going. When showing a home he never enters first and is always thinking about a way to escape any dangerous situation. He says some agents are now carrying concealed weapons.
A lot of agents do that. It’s not something we talk about because I don’t want people to know if I do or if I don’t.
Beemis says realtor safety is on the minds of a lot of agents in an effort to prevent another tragedy.
