The annual fundraiser for the Yakima Valley Museum finally has a date.

The eighth annual Red Into Black event takes place Nov. 1 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Director of the Yakima Valley Museum John Baule says the fundraiser is for the general operations of the museum since they do not receive any tax-based public support.

We really target such event money to our core efforts — the education programs for children and adults, the exhibits and the long-term preservation of our collections.

Food and drink will be served at the event which will also feature both a silent auction as well as a smaller oral auction. The museum plans to pair different silent auction items together in what they say will include unusual and unexpected couplings.
