The Salvation Army of Yakima Valley today announced it will be hosting its Red Kettle $20 Challenge on December 10th. On Saturday, December 10th Every $20 bill, or check designated for the $20 challenge donated to a Red Kettle will be matched up to $10,000 thanks to several local donations. Every dollar donated to a Salvation Army Red Kettle impacts those in need in the community in which it was given.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Salvation Army is in desperate need of volunteers for Saturday, December 10th 2022 starting at 9 am. They will will need volunteers for sorting, helping count and bag toys, for families. Over 900 families have signed up for requesting Christmas assistance this year. If interested in volunteering there are three ways to sign-up

What Does Your Donation to The Salvation Army Go To?

In Yakima, Red Kettle donations go to support the Salvation Army of Yakima’s food bank, student food security services, family services, various Christmas assistance, and year-round youth programming. The Salvation Army Red Kettles can be found at Fred Meyer, Walmart, Rosauer’s, Bi-Mart, Hobby Lobby, and various Wray’s and Safeway supermarkets. The Salvation Army has been serving the Yakima Valley since 1894 and is committed to serving the community by delivering help and hope to those in need.
