Party City Store Closing Sadly Includes 1 Location In Oregon
They’ve got bills to pay. You may have already heard that Party City HoldCo Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In order to pay off some of those Party City store bills, the Southern District of Texas Houston Division has sadly ordered Party City to end its leases to some locations in order to pay off debts incurred. In other words, they have to do what they have to do in order to stay afloat as a business.
Party City is THE “it” place to get decorations and balloons for all sorts of events like quinces, bat mitzvahs, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, anniversaries, graduation parties, and the latest new thing: Divorce parties. Whatever the occasion, many people in Canada and the U.S. have been flocking to Party City for holiday costumes and party supplies since 1986 when they opened their first small store in New Jersey.
WHY DID PARTY CITY FILE FOR CHAPTER 11?
Stories in the media have stated that Party City took a big hit during the COVID pandemic, as can be expected since public outings and massive parties pretty much came to a halt for nearly 2 years.
Party City locations in Oregon are not coming away unscathed from the latest round of store closures.
Party City has 4 locations in Oregon:
8905 SW Cascade Ave Suite, Beaverton, OR
8664 SE Sunnyside Rd, Clackamas, OR
3657 Crater Lake Hwy, Medford, OR
944 NW Circle Blvd, Corvallis, OR
This is the Oregon Party City location that is set to close due to Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
IS PARTY CITY EXPECTED TO CLOSE ANY MORE STORES IN WASHINGTON AND CALIFORNIA?
Fortunately, there are several Party City locations in the Pacific Northwest that are thus far safe from closures, namely, stores in Washington state and California. They are not included on this current list of Party City stores set to close.
