REVIEW: Honey Butter Chips From Korea Are In Yakima!

I love chips and with the exception of 'pickle flavored' I enjoy trying any new flavors.

So when I heard about Lay's 'Global Flavors', I started to keep my eyes open, and sure enough, I found a bag that was inspired by the taste of Korea.

Although, weirdly enough, when I think about "BUTTER & HONEY", Kentucky Fried Chicken (or KFC for the 'hip' crowd) comes to mind, not Korea.

I've been to Spain, but not Korea, so I'll take their word for it and try these chips. But, I'll from now on assume that everything in Korea tastes like this.

Lay's Honey Butter Flavor Taste Test

Opening the bag, it had a distinct smell. It was not pleasant. A couple deep inhales, and I could a bit of the honey smell, but not much of a butter scent.

When eating the chips, it was a standard Lay's chip taste, but after it was crunched up, that is when you got the honey butter flavor, and did remind me of a eating a KFC biscuit with honey and butter.

I did not have a third taste.

2nd Opinion Lay's Honey Butter Flavor Taste Test

My wife, Stephanie, who helps me out on many of my taste testing adventures was there for this one!

Opening the bag and getting a whiff of the contents of it, her comment, made me laugh:

"That's not a promising start."

Once she ate it, her tune changed. She liked it, especially the early sweetness taste of it.

"If you gave these chips to me, and wanted me to tell you what flavor they were, I couldn't do it, but knowing that it is suppose to be honey butter, I can tell. I like 'em."
