You know them when you see them...looking down at you as you make your mask- covered-way through the supermarket cereal aisle searching for sustenance.

They've been there since the 1930's.  In fact there used to be four of them, now reduced to three. The are the three amigos of audio, the S.C.P. , the Snap, Crackle & Pop of Rice Krispies and in case your un-woke self never noticed, ALL three are...white.

According to the experts at Wikipedia, "The first character appeared on the product's packaging in 1933...added two more and named the trio Snap, Crackle and Pop.  The names are an onomatopoeia and were derived from a Rice Krispies radio ad:

Listen to the fairy song of health, the merry chorus sung by Kellogg's Rice Krispies as they merrily snap, crackle and pop in a bowl of milk. If you've never heard food talking, now is your chance.

Corporate promotional material describes their relationship as resembling that of brothers. Snap is the oldest and is known as a problem solver, Crackle is an unsure "middle child" and known as a jokester, and Pop is a mischievous youngster and the center of attention."

So, they are brothers.  But why use one family? Why not a more racially diverse trio? Would it have killed Kellogg's to hire an African-American?

Now it's not me asking this.  It's from an article on Breitbart. "In the ever-expanding Cultural Revolution spurred on by the Black Lives Matter movement, Kellogg’s cereal boxes have now been added to the list of supposedly racist symbols "

The politician behind this gem is Fiona Onasanya, a former Labour Party representative..  I guess when she is not stalking the food aisles looking for "triggers" she is busy being "only the second person in history to be kicked out of Parliament by their own voters using a recall petition". On Social media  "Onasanya is asking the cereal giant to justify why Rice Krispies is represented with “three white boys” while the Coco Pops mascot is a monkey."

Can we take a moment to let that sink in......Snap, Crackle & Pop.."three white boys" which are in fact 90 year old cartoon characters, called out for discrimination by a black former member of Parliament.

In 2018, Onasanya was bounced from Parliament for lying about a speeding traffic offense and even that was not without some over the top self important drama. Breitbart says "She compared her fall from grace to Biblical figures such as Joseph, Moses, Daniel, and even to the persecution of Jesus Christ.  “Christ… was accused and convicted by the courts of his day and yet this was not his end but rather the beginning of the next chapter in his story,” she wrote in leaked WhatsApp messages."

Come on lady, even Black Lives Matter members eat Rice Krispies! Lighten up!!
