Last week, the YWCA of Yakima learned the secret identity of the speaker for their  25th annual Leadership Luncheon fundraiser. The luncheon serves as a fundraiser that enlightens community members and empowers victims of domestic violence and racism. Staff, volunteers and board members have been as quiet for as long as they could!

Last year, the YWCA of Yakima brought Canadian Margaret Trudeau as their featured luncheon speaker. Trudeau warmed hearts and made attendees laugh as she reminisced over her cavorts all over the world and her past and current mental health struggles, as detailed in her books*.

Here's what you need to know about the 2019 speaker: Her name is none other than Soledad O'Brien! She spent many years on television as a morning show anchor and special correspondent for CNN, NBC, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, HBO and TechTV. She is also a producer, journalist and CEO of her own media production company. These days, she is seen on a weekly syndicated political show, Matter of Fact with Soledad O'Brien.

O'Brien was one of People En Espanol Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People, Catalina Magazine's Groundbreaking Latina of the Year, and she has won countless Emmy's, Peabody Awards, NAABJ's Journalist of the year, a Gracie Allen award, and more. O'Brien's list of accolades is endless.

You can follow Soledad O'Brien on Twitter here.
