Yakima's new baseball team now has an office and a manager. The Western Baseball League team that begins play in June at Yakima County Stadium will be managed by Marcus Mckinney.  The Selah native is currently the head coach at Yakima Valley Community College.  The new office is located in the Shattuck building at State Fair Park, the same building which housed the now defunct Yakima Sunkings.

The name of the team, which will consist of college players will be announced Tuesday December Third.  Finalists for  the team name are Pippins, Red Tails, Short Hops, Sun Rays and Cascaders.  Fans have been voting to select the team name.

The WCL has two three divisions. The South will feature Bend, Corvallis, Klamath Falls and Medford. The new East includes Kelowna, Walla Walla, Wenatchee and expansion Yakima while the new West is made up of Bellingham, Cowlitz, Kitsap and Victoria.

The season begins in June at Yakima County Stadium at State Fair Park.
