YVCC Student Nominated for Statewide Transforming Lives Award

Yakima Valley Community College has nominated Analuisa Aguilera for a state Transforming Lives Award.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges Trustees Association will be awarding five students with a Transforming Lives Award. The Transforming Lives Award honors current students or graduates who have enhanced their lives by pursuing higher education at a community or technical college. A selection committee chooses the five finalists from a pool of 35 nominations from the state’s two-year colleges.

Yakima Valley Community College is pleased to announce the nomination of YVCC student Analuisa Aguilera.

Aguilera is pursuing her bachelor’s degree through YVCC’s new Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management Program.

Aguilera is currently working as a business analyst for the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. Earning a degree at YVCC will help her advance within the organization, allow her the opportunity to continue her professional development, and earn better wages. Her goal is to move into a management position.

Winners of the Transforming Lives Award receive a $500 prize.
