Yakima Valley Community College’s 2012-2013 Diversity Series "Sustainability as Cultural Imperative" continues on Thursday, April 24, 2013 with YVCC Student Video Competition, "Why is Diversity Important to Me?". Diversity Series events are free and open to the public.

YVCC students will compete for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention cash prizes as they creatively use their experiences, knowledge and research to inform us, via their YouTube video submissions, what diversity means to them. The top ten to twelve videos will be shown with cash awards announced at the end of the video showing. “American Idol-style” judges will serve on a panel and provide their feedback on each video with input from the audience.

The deadline for submission is April 19th. For submission directions, go to www.yvcc.edu/diversity.

The 2012/2013 Diversity Series is sponsored by: YVCC Ethnic Programs, YVCC Sustainability Committee, ASYVCC Student Government, YVCC’s ASL Club, YVCC’s BSU Club, YVCC’s MECha Club, the Yakima Environmental Learning Foundation, and Social Sciences Department.
